Greenland has 10 years of compulsory education for children.
An Inuit man who came to our hotel to demonstrate traditional
dance. He is hoping his son carries on the tradition.

Crossing an ice cold stream. It was above my knees in some sections.
We had been told to bring water shoes on this hike. There were 3
stream crossings. This one was the deepest.
Greenland huskies used for dog sledding in the winter. The only way to get
around to different communities in Greenland is by boat or helicopter
or the sleds in winter. There were some cars and trucks in Tasiilaq, but
only for use in town.

Our tour guide, Orri, told us not to try to pet them, because they
are wild dogs. Some of the puppies wanted to play with us, but
the mothers were on the alert.

We boarded a small motorboat to take a fjord cruise through icebergs
on our last full day in Greenland.
We saw icebergs of all shapes and sizes.

We took turns standing on an iceberg. The boat captain is holding ropes
to keep our boat from floating away.
We saw a number of whales. I didn't attempt many photos, since
they go in and out of the water so fast.
